JERSEY CITY, NJ, JUNE 14, 2006 -- A bystander watches police activity on Grand Street

beside the passenger door of the police car involved in a head-on collision with a van.

The door was removed by Emergency Services Unit police officers using the

“jaws of life” to extricate one of the police officers inside the police car.
